Yep last week I rediscovered #strawberries but this time with @loving_earth #rawcoco #cocoanibs (ok the piece of @lindt_chocolate 85% #darkchocolate was meant to just be for the pic but I ate it anyway😁).
.
Who knew those #crunchymorsels could be so incredible ... and if a little #sweetener is required just use @nirvanahealthproducts spoonable #steviaslim .
.
Feeling better after #hathayoga yesterday I decided to treat myself with a naked burger (in lettuce no bun) as it was my last lunch out in Melbourne before starting #hcg on Sunday.
.
Whilst the 'oh brother' burger was seriously oozy good, that and the glass of cider pushed me over the edge to a bit of an #eatingfrenzy and ... well ... things went downhill from there.
.
I'm not proud of my blowout, but I have accepted it for what it was and now #needtomoveon, being more aware of my #triggers At least I managed to get things back on track and stop in time to commence my 18 hour #intermittentfast after dinner which meant no #latenighteating Small wins.
.
My #addiction to #sugar is really strong, and seemingly #impossible to overcome. Eight times more addictive than heroin, it stems from the #childsexualabuse I suffered ... I took #comfortinfood particularly sweets, even stealing coins from my mother's purse to buy chocolate bars to devour in secret. Mum's forgiven me. I'm not sure I've forgiven myself yet.
.
So I'm on a mission for the rest of 2018 ... not only to #breakthecycle ave regain my slim body, but to reopen and heal the #oldwounds that are left. And one of the ways I'm going to attack the problem is through self defence classes.
.
You see my mind is still in fear ... fear of my body being hurt again ... attacked... controlled #againstmywill. Even though I'm older and wiser, I still have a fear of being abused again ... with no ability to protect myself.
.
So I figure that learning self defense or matial arts will help my mind to feel strong because I will #knowhow to protect myself ... from almost anything.
.
And that's where the rest of the healing begins ❀.

For those who've been reading my often #longpost you'll know that I've been suffering from extreme and acute residual back pain from a slip back in January in Iceland.
.
Yesterday I saw Specialist Sports Medicine Dr Tim Woods (who works with some of Australia's best athletes) to try and work Pitt what's going on.
.
Turns out my #backinjury is healed (yay!) but that my brain is still sending unnecessary 'protective' pain messages exacerbated by my #adrenalfatigue ... a bit like an amputee still feels an itch in their missing limb.
.
So this got me thinking about my long term #fibromyalgia ... what if just some of the pain was a similar thing? What if I could retain my brain to issue less pain signals? Interesting #foodforthought eh? So I'm gonna explore that one further.
.
In the meantime I have to consciously #retrainmybrain and #breathedeeply through any #sharppain I feel ... #nomeds just #breathing .
.
I've also had #doctorsorders to restart my #gentleyoga routine immediately ... and once the pain subsides, provided it subsides, I can start #martialarts classes (more on that tomorrow)
.
So all up it's #goodnews which whilst #unexpected is really great, and I'm so #grateful for it ❀

Salmon, pistachio dukkah with roasted cauliflower, Brussels sprouts and oregano.

Twice a week I #roastvegetables usually for leftover salads. Today it was #roastcauliflower and #brusselsprouts with fresh #oregano Just a little @cobramestate #evoo black pepper and @murrayriversalt
#pinksalt and a couple of hours later you have perfectly #slowroasted veg.
.
Felt like fish yesterday so got out the trusty @aldiaustralia frozen Norwegian #salmon and gave it a gentle nuke (despite not being fond of microwaves ). Found some #pistachio #dukkah in the pantry and 'voila' #lunch is served. Pretty tasty, eh?

Yesterday in preparation for my upcoming #hcg round with @hcgdietprogram I upped my #intermittentfasting from 14 to 18 hours. Sounds like a lot I know but it's the best way to give your body and digestive system the break it really deserves. Who needs a carb-laden breakfast anyway, right?
.

Carrot and ginger soup with pistachio crumb and evoo πŸ‘ super yummo!

Yesterday's lunch was a retake on Sunday's #leftovers - I reheated this delicious soup made in my @thermomixaus and topped it with a drizzle of @cobramestate #oliveoil and #activated #pistachios seasoned with @murrayriversalt #pinksalt .
.
My @woolworths_au #organiccarrots weren't quite sweet enough so I added a touch of @nirvanahealthproducts #steviaslim to boost the flavor.
.
Last night I #netflixandchill and watched "To The Bone" (2017l with a beautifully moving performance by #lilycollins of a girl battling to overcome an #eatingdisorder (in this case anorexia nervosa).
.
But the movie (not for the feint hearted but kind of a #chickflick ) is made for anyone afflicted with an eating disorder, like me.
.
I've battled all my life to be thin, and since shedding 70+kg (150lbs) - half my body weight - I've #struggled to #keeptheweightoff mostly because I haven't fully dealt with my #foodaddiction brought on by #childsexualabuse and made worse by #fibromyalgia and #adrenalfatigue .
.
But what this movie did was give me a #newinsight into my own #personalbattle ... that sometimes you need to hit #rockbottom before you can climb your way back up.
.
Sometimes I feel like Neo in #thematrix when Trinity says "Because you have been down there, Neo. You know that road. You know exactly where it ends. And I know that's not where you want to be".
.
I have, and it's not. So it's time to make some #toughchoices and really choose the #redpill ... do the things I've not been willing to do to truly deal with #mydemons and overcome this #addiction for good.
.
Finding the #courage to do this is tough, painful and darn right scary ... and it's gonna be like that for a while. There will be setbacks, #highsandlows and it will require #constantvigilance and #dedication. I know that. But I know I can ... because the only way from now ... is up. And it starts now ❀
